1. Timeline of farmers' protest: Fourth round of talks between Centre and farmer groups remains inconclusive

The fourth round of talks between the Centre and representatives of 35 farmer groups failed to yield any results on Thursday, as the union leaders stuck to their demand for the repeal of the new farm laws.

The seven-hour meeting between the farmers and the Centre failed to end the deadlock over the farm laws. Union minister Narendra Tomar, who led the negotiations, said the government 'has no ego'.

Earlier in the day, the farmers refused lunch during the meet with the Government. 'They offered us food, we denied and are sticking to our langar which we have brought with us,' a farmer leader said.

The next meeting has been scheduled for December 5. Agriculture minister Narendra Tomar urged farmers to end their agitation, assuring that Minimum Support Price (MSP) would not be touched.
